How to Change Google Calendar Holidays

In today’s fast-paced world, staying organized is crucial, especially when it comes to managing personal and professional commitments. Google Calendar, with its user-friendly interface and robust features, has become an essential tool for millions of people worldwide. One of the most useful aspects of Google Calendar is the ability to customize holidays according to your preferences. This article will guide you through the process of how to change Google Calendar holidays, ensuring that your calendar reflects your unique schedule and cultural celebrations.

Step 1: Access Google Calendar

To begin the process of changing your Google Calendar holidays, you first need to access your Google Calendar account. You can do this by visiting the Google Calendar website (calendar.google.com) or by opening the Google Calendar app on your smartphone or tablet.

Step 2: Select the Calendar

Once you are logged in to your Google Calendar account, you will see a list of calendars on the left-hand side of the screen. Click on the calendar you want to modify. If you want to change holidays for all calendars, click on the “My calendars” section and select the “All calendars” option.

Step 3: Add a New Holiday

To add a new holiday to your calendar, click on the “Create” button (which looks like a plus sign) in the upper-right corner of the calendar. From the dropdown menu, select “Event.” In the “Event Details” window, enter the name of the holiday, set the date, and choose the time if applicable. You can also add a description and location for the event.

Step 4: Set the Event Type to Holiday

After entering the necessary details, scroll down to the “Event type” section. Here, you will find a dropdown menu with various options, including “Holiday.” Select “Holiday” from the list to indicate that this event is a holiday.

Step 5: Save the Event

Once you have set the event type to “Holiday,” click on the “Save” button to add the holiday to your calendar. The event will now appear on your calendar with a holiday-themed icon, making it easy to identify.

Step 6: Repeat for Additional Holidays

If you have more holidays to add, repeat steps 3 to 5 for each holiday. You can create as many holidays as you need to ensure your calendar reflects all the important dates you want to remember.

Step 7: Customize Holiday Colors

To make your holidays stand out on the calendar, you can customize their colors. Click on the holiday event you want to modify, then click on the three dots (menu icon) in the upper-right corner of the event. Select “Edit event details,” and in the “Event color” section, choose a color that suits your preference.

Step 8: Remove or Edit Existing Holidays

If you need to remove or edit an existing holiday, simply click on the holiday event and choose “Edit” or “Delete” from the menu. Make the necessary changes and save the event.

By following these steps, you can easily change Google Calendar holidays to suit your personal or cultural preferences. With a well-organized calendar, you’ll be better equipped to manage your time and commitments, ensuring a more balanced and fulfilling life.
